Job Description:
Our Client is seeking a Development Director to join their community-supported non-profit organization which works to empower Latino students and families to achieve their dreams from cradle to career by using a holistic programming structure that includes Birth to 5, after school tutoring, youth mentoring, adult education, and educational summer enrichment programs.
Responsibilities:
- Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement fundraising strategies for growth and sustainability, including donor cultivation, grant acquisition, fundraising events, and annual giving campaigns.
- Donor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, sponsors, and foundations, offering personalized stewardship for ongoing support.
- Grant Writing and Management: Research funding opportunities, prepare grant proposals, manage applications and reporting, and collaborate with program staff for necessary data.
- Communications and Marketing Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive communication and marketing strategy, supervise communication staff, and lead fundraising campaigns.
- Volunteer Management: Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and retention, ensuring effective utilization to support fundraising and programs.
- Event Planning and Management: Coordinate fundraising events and donor activities, managing logistics, budgeting, and volunteer coordination.
- Budgeting and Financial Oversight: Develop and monitor fundraising budgets, analyze data, and provide regular reports to leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Supervision and Leadership: Provide guidance to the development team, set performance expectations, and offer professional development opportunities.
- Collaboration and Communication: Align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities, communicating effectively with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred)
- Director experience is a must
- Raiser's Edge and Salesforce experience
- Bilingual preferred
- Ability and passion for building relationships
- Ability and comfort level in soliciting and closing gifts
- Strong communication skills, including public speaking and writing
- Skill in exercising discretion and independent judgment with regard to management tasks
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple demands
- Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds, including children, and people of diverse cultures
- Familiarity with the metro Atlanta philanthropic community and local funding sources desired
- Ability to work flexible hours / hybrid options
- To support the team, you may need to walk briskly across our campuses, lift and carry supplies, push heavy carts, climb stairs, and have good vision and hearing to meet job demands.
