Post-doc, Neuromodulation
Employer: University of California, San Francisco, Department of Neurology
Location: San Francisco, California
Salary: $66,000-$86,000
Closing date: Nov 8, 2024
The Moussawi lab (https://profiles.ucsf.edu/khaled.moussawi) in the Department of Neurology at UCSF is seeking to fill an open postdoctoral scholar position.
The research project involves using Transcranial Low-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (LIFU) for neuromodulation of the reward and motivation circuits in patients with substance use disorders. In addition to LIFU, the research approach involves EEG, fMRI, and cognitive and behavioral testing. There will also be an opportunity to design and contribute to DBS-fMRI imaging studies. This project is conducted in collaboration with UCSF investigators from Neuroradiology, Psychiatry, and Neurosurgery.
Job Requirements:
The candidate must have prior neuroimaging research experience in the field of MRI, preferably coupled with a strong background in predictive modeling using machine learning techniques. A competitive applicant will also have extensive experience with 1) neuromodulation techniques like TMS or LIFU, 2) neuronavigation for precise targeting, 3) quantitative skills (MATLAB and/or Python), and 4) clinical research background.
How to Apply:
Interested and enthusiastic candidates are invited to email their CV (including a list of publications) and research statement to Dr. Moussawi at Khaled.Moussawi@ucsf.edu.
