Summary:
GEICO is looking for a Senior Internal Communications Manager to support our Corporate Communications organization. In this high-impact, high visibility role, the candidate will work to develop and execute strategic internal communications to engage, inform and inspire GEICO associates. In addition, this role, which reports to the Senior Director of Internal Communications, will be responsible for the leadership of one direct report with responsibility for supporting our Operations organization.
The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, dynamic environment, has the ability to effectively lead a team, and can think strategically and also execute on a tactical level.
Exceptional writing skills, a deep understanding of internal communications, attention to detail, strong team leadership skills, and experience working directly with senior leaders at large companies is vital to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create targeted messaging and campaigns to address new programs or processes, policies, change management, and engage associates at all levels within Operations.
- Engage regularly with Operations stakeholders to understand their key priorities and develop strategic communications plans and tactics to bring their initiatives to life for GEICO employees.
- Direct and support integrated communications campaigns to support initiatives in departments in Operations (additional areas of focus will include Cyber Security, Tech, and Product).
- Employ both proactive and reactive strategic thinking and decision making.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of internal communications.
- Continuously measure, evaluate, and modify communications plans and tactics to improve impact and effectiveness.
- Develop and execute strategic communications plans that reinforce the company’s priorities and key initiatives.
- Manage, mentor, develop and inspire communications team members including setting goals, providing development and leadership, and tracking success metrics.
- Edit and review the work of one direct report with a focus on creating communications that are clear, engaging, and relevant to employees.
Qualifications:
GEICO seeks an energetic, seasoned and agile internal communications leader for this role. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant corporate communications experience with a strong emphasis on internal communications. They will bring to GEICO a strong understanding of best-in-class internal communications and change management practices from prior experiences.
- Strong internal communications experience at large companies and proven people leadership experience.
- Adept at influencing business partners, managing change and driving adoption of new communication initiatives.
- Exceptional communicator, able to present ideas verbally, in writing, formally and informally.
- Experience working on Operations communications and with senior-level Operations leaders is a plus.
- Proven manager, someone who knows how to manage a team and values leading high-performing teams and brings out the best in individuals’ assets and capabilities.
- Experience working with senior-level leaders.
- Ability to work quickly and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of precision and attention to detail.
- Ability to resolve tough business problems with well-structured analysis.
- Proficiency in utilizing communication and collaboration platforms, digital tools, and analytics to drive effective communications.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to understand and communicate difficult concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Annual Salary:
$95,000.00 - $168,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
