Activities Director Overview:
As the Activities Director, you will be responsible for establishing a plan to ease the transition for our residents and make life as fulfilling as possible through planning, developing, and implementing recreational activities that will meet the needs of our residents and target each life domain: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
Activities Director Key Duties:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs of the facility.
- Ensure compliance with current local, state, and federal regulations, as well as professional standards to the Administrator.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for identification of medically related activity needs of the residents.
- Participate in planning, development, and implementation of activity care plans, resident assessment, and interdisciplinary care plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Activities Director Qualifications:
- Possess a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Certified Activities Professional.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in Activities / Therapeutic Recreation in the long-term care setting.
- Effective communication skills to interact with residents, family members, and facility team members.
- Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience with Point Click Care or other electronic medical record systems.
