Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center is one of the largest community health centers in Massachusetts serving Worcester, Framingham, Milford and the surrounding communities. We are a thriving and growing organization, and our team is expanding across sites to support this growth.
We are hiring a Director of Facilities which will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all health center facilities, both those owned by Kennedy CHC and those leased by the health center, engaging and managing external vendors as necessary to provide clean, functional, and well-maintained spaces for patients and staff. The Director of Facilities manages and supervises maintenance and housekeeping staff. This role also oversees contracted vendors and the management of vendor relationships. This position oversees all new construction renovations. This role will assure compliance with applicable facilities regulations and accreditation standards at the federal, state, and local levels.

Essential Functions:
- Manages facilities operations at all health center sites, ensuring clean, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environments. Collaborates with site leaders to address facility issues.
- Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates maintenance and housekeeping staff, assigning tasks and setting schedules.
- Helps establish and adhere to the facilities budget, managing expenditures and ensuring fiscal compliance.
- Engages and manages vendors and contractors for maintenance tasks. Coordinates with landlords at leased properties to ensure safety and functionality.
- Oversees fire safety, equipment maintenance, and utilities management, ensuring plans are current and effective.
- Ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies, managing facility-related inspections.
- Manages the product safety data system, working with Purchasing to ensure all products are listed and accessible.
- Serves as the health center’s Safety Officer.
- Leads the Environment of Care/Infection Control Committee and other groups focused on improving care environments and emergency preparedness.
- Oversees construction projects, including budgeting, plan development, bidding, and contractor management.
- Collaborates with Advancement staff on proposals for facilities-related grants and reporting to funders.
Education and Experience:- 5+ years’ experience in facilities management.
- Technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, building security systems, and building management techniques.
- Proven ability to work productively with outside vendors and contractors.
- General knowledge of federal, state, and city building codes and compliance.
- 5+ years’ experience in supervising facilities staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced skills in MS Office Suites, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn the software as needed.
