Position Overview:
The Technology Services Advisory Director is a senior leadership role responsible for providing strategic technology direction and guidance to clients, ensuring their IT infrastructure, cloud environments, and Microsoft solutions align with their business objectives. This role demands a blend of technical expertise in infrastructure, cloud solutions, and Microsoft 365 technologies, coupled with strong client engagement skills. The Technology Services Advisory Director will act as a trusted advisor, bridging the gap between technology and business, while driving digital transformation initiatives that enhance client satisfaction and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technology Services Management:
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of robust IT infrastructures, cloud environments, and Microsoft 365 technology solutions for clients.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services, meeting or exceeding service level agreements (SLAs) and client expectations.
- Oversee technology projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Strategic IT Leadership:
- Serve as the primary technology advisor (vCIO) for clients, developing IT strategies that align with their business goals.
- Provide insights on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to guide clients in their digital transformation journey.
- Collaborate with client executives to understand business needs and translate them into technology solutions.
- Client Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and advocate for their technology needs.
- Regularly conduct client meetings to review IT performance, discuss new initiatives, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for upselling or expanding services based on clients' evolving needs and market trends.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, ensuring they have the skills and resources to deliver exceptional service.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Compliance and Security:
- Ensure that all technology solutions and services comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Oversee the implementation of robust cybersecurity measures to protect client data and systems.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the budget for technology services, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Track and report on financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability of client engagements.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and/or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, Microsoft Certifications, Cisco Certifications); Azure certifications is a plus.
- Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a strong focus on infrastructure, cloud, and Microsoft technologies.
- Proven track record of successfully managing client relationships and delivering complex technology projects.
- Experience in a vCIO role or similar client-facing leadership position is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, storage, and virtualization.
- Expertise in cloud computing, particularly with Microsoft Azure, and knowledge in other cloud platforms (AWS).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Windows Server, AD/Entra ID, etc.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, such as ITIL.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team of IT professionals.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $114,900 - $231,000
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
