The Division of Development and Alumni Relations supports and promotes the mission, purpose, and priorities of the University of Miami through fundraising and engagement by building and nurturing strategic philanthropic relationships.
General Overview:
The Student and Young Alumni Engagement Coordinator reports to the Sr Director, Philanthropic Experience and is part of a dynamic team responsible for creating a cutting-edge program at the University of Miami leveraging a human-centered approach to philanthropy education for students and young alumni.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist Philanthropy Experience leadership to define and leverage opportunities for increasing student organization fundraising and improving philanthropy education.
Assist Philanthropy Experience and Philanthropic Giving teams and collaborate on the strategy, deployment, day-to-day management and facilitation of the University’s crowdfunding tool.
In partnership with the Associate Director, help coordinate a student-to-young alumni philanthropic education or ambassador program.
Assist with coordination and implementation of alumni engagement interview program.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, analysis, and improvement.
Provide information and insights to team leadership to track/measure overall performance of crowdfunding and engagement.
Stay on top of emerging best practices and trends with student and young alumni engagement and fundraising.
Participate in Digital Engagement and Philanthropic Giving planning meetings.
Collaborate with other campus colleagues to share strategies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in fundraising, engagement, marketing, or student affairs experience, preferably in higher education.
Familiarity with MS Office products and web-based fundraising technology.
Adept at using digital media, text, phone, and video conferencing.
Professional verbal, written, and listening skills.
Previous leadership or student organization experience preferred.
Understanding of digital marketing, volunteer management, or fundraising preferred.
Excellent social skills, with large groups as well as with individuals.
Must be detail oriented, well organized, focused and goal-oriented.
