As our Tactical Datalink Analyst, you’ll be at the forefront of advancing our Tactical Data Link (TDL) capabilities. Your role will involve analyzing and enhancing the communication systems that are vital for our Carrier Strike Group's Carrier Air Wing (CVW) operations. You’ll work directly with an impressive array of aircraft, including the EA-18G, P-8, MH-60, E-2, F/A-18, F-35, F-16, and F-15, ensuring seamless data exchange across platforms.
Location: NAS Whidbey Island, WA, with occasional travel to other locations as required.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Dive into the complexities of data link systems, ensuring robust and reliable communication between aircraft and ground stations.
- Keep a vigilant eye on system performance, swiftly identifying and resolving issues to maintain peak operational efficiency.
- Be the go-to expert during missions, providing real-time troubleshooting and system adjustments to ensure flawless operations.
- Maintain comprehensive records of system configurations, performance metrics, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaborate with various technical teams to integrate data link systems within broader communication networks and operational plans.
- Empower your team with your expertise, offering training and insights to optimize the use and troubleshooting of data link systems.
- Produce detailed reports on data link performance, issues, and recommendations for improvements.
- Recommend and oversee upgrades and integrations of TDL technologies, including Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT).
- Work with the Pacific Northwest Electronic Warfare Range and other authorities to tackle Link-16 and ground station configuration challenges.
- Organize, test, and operate data link systems, ensuring they meet all operational and training needs.
- Clearance: TS/SCI.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Relevant military experience and technical certifications may substitute for a degree.
- Experience: At least 4 years of experience with Multi-TDL standards and 3 years with Department of Defense Tactical Datalink-16. Expertise in data link systems (MIL-STD-6016, Link 16), strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills. Experience with the AFTTP 3-3/3-1, HAVOC, and TOPGUN processes is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to hear clearly, sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and work in various environments, including high-pressure situations.
Hours: 0730-1530, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for flying operations.
Position Pay Range: $100,000 - $150,000 USD
