Looking for a Sr. Business Analyst that will serve as the liaison between the government client and the technical system engineering and system test teams. This person will be responsible for eliciting, analyzing, validating, specifying, verifying, and managing the business needs of the stakeholders, including internal Users and filers. The successful candidate will work closely with business units, subject matter experts and technical resources to identify business needs, define projects, develop requirements, report results and execute or manage the effort to completion.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements analysis, validation and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable actionable.
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, questionnaires, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and existing system analysis.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate (both verbal and written) with business units that rely on that information to define system requirements or organizational processes.
- Collect and analyze the project's business requirements and transfer the same knowledge to the development team.
- Effectively communicate relevant information to managers.
- Review and/or prepare system documentation and specifications in accordance with defined SDLC process and associated schedules.
- Ability to lead internal teams.
- Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Manage requirements traceability information and track requirements status throughout the project.
- Manage changes to requirements through effective use of change control processes and tools.
- Balance technology and business issues as well as communicate appropriately with both technology and business experts.
- Creation and execution of unit test and integration test cases.
Qualifications
- Business requirements analysis and systems analysis.
- Knowledge and experience using Serena Version Manager and Serena Business Manager.
- The ability to think analytically, solve problems to complex business processes, and document results.
- The ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise manner across functional and technical departments.
- A strong understanding of web-based application delivery.
- Work on multiple tasks at any one time while maintaining high quality standards.
- The candidate must be process-oriented with sound judgment, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through including the flexibility to perform in an ever-changing work environment.
- The candidate must be energetic, driven and committed to project success while working under tight time constraints and pressure.
- Develop wire frames, workflows, use case diagrams, flowcharts, and other analysis-type documentation.
- Development of test scenarios and test cases, and testing activities necessary to assess the quality and completion of system implementations.
- Monitor and manage project scope and enforce change management.
- Identify, document, and resolve project issues.
- Develop contingency plans where appropriate.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.
- Set and continuously manage customer expectations and navigate any obstacles to achieve success.
- Have a working knowledge of the SDLC phases involved in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Nice to have:
- Working history with iRise would be enormously helpful as the project team is migrating towards the engagement and usage of this tool to support the requirements development process.
- Background in HP ALM would be beneficial as the team has begun to integrate the usage of this tool as part of their overall SDLC process supporting the system.
