Position Summary:
Provides comprehensive diagnostic mental health assessments, interventions, education, referrals and consultations for patients in the outpatient setting. Conducts evaluations and assessments; provides ongoing counseling, treatment and intervention, conducts individual, group and family psychotherapy.

- Status: Full-time /exempt, 8am-5pm when in clinic (Hybrid schedule depending on clinic volume)
- Required: LCSW and at least 5 years of experience
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Conducts comprehensive initial assessments to define the patient’s presenting problem and aid in treatment plan development.
- Conducts independent short-term psychotherapy using a variety of evidence-based modalities. Assist the patients in achieving positive psychological and/or social adjustments and may carry administrative responsibilities for a program.
- Leads treatment groups, support groups and other educational groups pretraining to behavioral health.
- Maintain detailed records of client assessment, diagnosis, therapeutic goals, and treatment notes. Knowledge of electronic recordkeeping procedures.
- Participates in clinical meetings, presents cases and establishes rapport with others on the clinical team. Collaborates with physicians and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to coordinate care, enhance the patient experience and achieve collaborative goals. Collaboratively develop patient goals, monitor progress, address barriers to goal achievement, and evaluate outcomes of individualized care plans.
- Refers cases to appropriate professionals, institutions or agencies to ensure that patients receive appropriate treatment or referral.
- Prepares detailed reports and may videotape sessions with patients for review with coworkers or a faculty member.
- Participates in teaching and staff development activities.
- Utilizes crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and mediation to address patient/family concerns.
- Responds to emergency situations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the Texas Board of Social Work. Knowledge of DSM-5 Criteria.
Minimum Education:
Master's Degree in Social Work from a school approved by the Council on Social Work.
Minimum Experience:
Five years of social work experience required, with at least two years of experience providing evidenced-based, client-centered counseling (group or independent) also required. Clinical social work experience in an outpatient healthcare setting is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
