Head of Carpentry
The Head of Carpentry holds an important role with the Enchant team. Reporting to the Production Manager as a member of our onsite leadership team, the Head of Carpentry will be responsible for overseeing and managing the installation of all structural elements. The Head of Carpentry must be able to interpret design drawings, communicate install methodologies and lead multiple teams while managing a tight schedule. Working in conjunction with the Production Manager and the other Heads of Departments, collaboration and coordination is critical to ensuring the success of our event.
COMMITMENT: Dates may change based on location
- Start Date: September 2, 2024
- Pre-Install: September 2 - October 27, 2024
- Training: Attend in-person training with the HQ team at the warehouse (Dates TBD in October)
- Install: Oct 30 - Nov 22, 2024
- Show: Nov 22 - Dec 29, 2024
- Load Out: Dec 30, 2024 - Jan 1-15, 2025
- Must be prepared to work each day of the Load-in, Run-of-Show and Load-out
- This includes the holiday season: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day
- Travel will be required
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Ensure team is practicing safe work procedures
- Clearly communicate best practices and provide guidance as required
- Assign tasks to Crew Leads and ensure work is performed correctly
- Review drawings and install procedures prior to directing teams
- Determine the tools & equipment required to perform each scope of work
- Follow the outlined installation schedule and provide progress updates daily
- Work closely with Production Manager and the other Heads of Department to coordinate integration requirements (ie. electrical / crane & forklift requirements etc.)
- Provide direction to the team in executing the installation and operation plans
- Ensure all assets and structures are properly and safely installed
- Collaborate with team to ensure design intent is executed with installation for a successful show experience
- Document as-built adjustments to the design with the Event Production Director
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:
- Construction and/or fabrication experience in the Entertainment Industry and Event load ins/strikes
- Must be able to interpret design drawings and communicate install methodologies
- Ability to lead large teams and effectively manage time
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Entrepreneurial and self-driven
- Strong understanding of woodworking, metalworking, and rigging
- Strong understanding of fabrication tools and hardware
- Adaptable with the willingness to pivot as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Our venues span over 100,000 square feet.
- Must be able to frequently walk and stand for long durations.
- Frequently operates machinery and/or power tools.
- Frequently operates a motor vehicle.
- Occasionally operates heavy equipment.
CERTIFICATIONS:
- OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
- OSHA 10 certification (required)
