Lightmatter is a photonic computer company redefining what computers and humans are capable of by building engines that will power discoveries and sustainably drive progress. With modern human progress relying heavily on computers, the world has hit a dead end with traditional transistors, and the prospect of constantly building data centers is an environmental nightmare. Lightmatter has created a solution in photonic computing: using photons instead of electrons to take advantage of their higher bandwidth. We build chips for artificial intelligence computing. Our architecture leverages the unique properties of light to enable fast and efficient inference and training engines.
We are hiring a Sr. Staff Digital Design Engineer to help lead ASIC development for the next-generation artificial intelligence computing architecture alongside a team of world-class scientists and engineers. If your passion is innovation, solving challenging technical problems, and doing impactful work, you should join our team and help build the world's first optical computers!
In this job, you will collaborate closely with computer architects, software engineers, verification engineers, and physical design engineers to scope out and design innovative compute-accelerators that work with photonic technology to power the growing AI/ML workloads customers want while keeping power low. In addition to playing a key role in active projects, this role will also involve leading various small sub-teams across multiple domains in mapping out next-generation forward-looking projects. This will be a great opportunity to define the next advance in computer architecture!
