Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Intermittent
This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available. This is an Intermittent / part-time position and not a full-time position.
Basic Requirements
- Citizenship: Citizen of the United States.
- English Language Proficiency: Proficient in basic written and spoken English.
- Education: A masters or doctoral degree in nurse anesthesia from an accredited program.
- Licensure and Certification: Maintain an active, current, full and unrestricted license to practice as a CNA, and full certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
Responsibilities
The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CNA) provides a full range of services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the Veterans Affairs (VA) mission. Core functions include:
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to achieve common goals for patient care.
- Providing anesthetic services including pre-anesthesia evaluation, anesthesia induction, maintenance, and post-anesthesia care.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive anesthesia plans of care.
- Ensuring high-quality anesthetic services to promote patient safety and satisfaction.
- Serving as a resource for staff education and mentoring healthcare trainees.
- Prescribing appropriate preoperative, intra-operative, and postoperative orders and medications.
Physical Requirements
This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. It may involve long periods of walking, standing, and lifting patients and objects.
Work Schedule
Intermittent position, with potential flexibility in schedule and assignments. May include on-call duties.
