Job Summary:
The Clinical Director reports directly to the CEO of ARVAC. This position provides direct oversight and supervision of all counselors and counselors-in-training employed by ARVAC Recovery and Wellness. This position will assume responsibility for the implementation, delivery, coordination and supervision of residential and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment services provided by Lake Point Recovery and Wellness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides clinical supervision for all treatment activities, ensuring delivery of best practice clinical supervision to counseling staff.
- Serves as a member of the leadership team for the Agency; assists in the development of agency goals; recommends and enforces agency policies and procedures.
- Serves as the DHS contact for clinical and practice-related issues.
- Assumes overall responsibility for oversight and management of clinical services.
- Accountable for all clinical services (professional and paraprofessional); responsible for Behavioral Health Agency care and service quality and compliance.
- Communicates with the CEO regarding treatment programs and activities concerning the clinical staff and persons served.
- Ensures that all services are provided within each practitioner’s scope of practice under Arkansas law.
- Documents direct supervision of MHP’s, either personally or through a documented chain of supervision.
- Ensures that licensed mental health professionals directly supervise Qualified Behavioral Health Providers with appropriate supervision ratios.
- Provides information and feedback to counselors in a professional and timely manner.
- Conducts written performance evaluations in accordance with policy requirements; assists in hiring personnel.
- Identifies the need for staff education and assists in the development of in-house trainings.
- Provides leadership and counsel to clinical personnel to enhance staff development.
- Provides clinical supervision for Career Counseling in preparing counselors for certification.
- Ensures that staff are providing the required amount of counseling services.
- Provides clinical supervision of records of persons served to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conducts weekly group staff meetings and individual sessions with clinical staff to ensure proficiency regarding policies and procedures.
- Coordinates in-house and outside training for clinical staff required for Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) and national accreditation standards.
- Participates and provides leadership during staff meetings and other meetings/committees related to clinical practice.
- Conducts supervisory visits to observe clinical performance of assigned team members.
- Maintains a caseload if necessary.
- Supervises the maintenance of medical records assuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with licensing regulations.
- Assists in maintaining and implementing a Quality Improvement Plan.
- Submits Quality Clinical Records in a timely and professional manner.
- Collects and assesses data regarding patient services and outcomes.
- Ensures counseling sessions are billed accordingly.
- Communicates all pertinent clinical and administrative information to the Executive Director and other team members.
- Receives, investigates and makes recommendations regarding patient complaints in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Knowledge of Lake Point Recovery and Wellness Programs.
- Knowledge of proper medical observational procedures.
- Knowledge of policy and procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality policy.
- Ability to abide by HIPAA and HIPAA Privacy Rule.
- Ability to comply with the Agency Confidentiality Policy.
- Ability to supervise and teach a group of counselors.
- Ability to follow Agency guidelines as mandated in the staff and client handbooks.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.

This position requires close work; finger dexterity; good vision, hearing, oral communication, and critical thinking on a regular basis. May occasionally work longer than 8 hours/day.
Qualification Standards:
This position requires independent Behavioral Health licensure in Arkansas as a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychological Examiner – Independent (LPE-I), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or an Advanced Practice Nurse or Clinical Nurse Specialist (APN or CNS) with a specialty in psychiatry or mental health and a minimum of two years clinical experience post master’s degree.
Work Environment:
- Work is generally performed in an office environment.
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud (examples: business office with computers and printers, light to moderate traffic, human voices).

- May be required to operate a motor vehicle during the course of duties.
