Network Architect:
The Network Architect plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure, which includes global servers, networks, and telecommunication systems. This role ensures adherence to the latest best practices and requires exceptional analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and deliver secure, stable infrastructure to support global business operations. Responsibilities include system and network planning and analysis to align technology with business objectives, ensuring seamless integration to enhance operational efficiency.
*Active CCNP Certification Required.
Responsibilities:
- Design complete infrastructure, analyze systems, and ensure security of on-prem data centers and cloud platforms.
- Evaluate current systems, review new systems, and propose alternative solutions and improvements.
- Manage and maintain server resources for the global IT system.
- Oversee global infrastructure architectural design and collaborate with the team lead for implementation.
- Continuously improve server and network systems by monitoring and evaluating technology and approaches.
- Work with the server and network team for future planning and evaluate short- and long-term change plans.
- Participate in change control, production acceptance, and event management processes.
- Manage global server capacity and provide server utilization statistics for capacity planning.
- Install and configure multiple virtualization technologies and operating systems (e.g., VMware, ESX, Windows, Linux).
- Communicate, validate, and drive architecture strategy for the overall IT project portfolio across IT teams and design end-to-end technical plans.
- Participate in proof of concepts to define technology direction and enable business strategy.
- Develop long-term strategies for historical data retention and archival storage needs.
- Establish enterprise standards to ensure compatibility and integration of multi-vendor platforms.
- Design infrastructure for implementing new solutions.
- Conduct impact analysis and design modifications to existing systems to support new solutions.
- Collaborate with project managers and technical directors to estimate, plan, and implement installation, customization, deployment, and integration efforts.
- Perform related duties as required.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Cloud platform certification (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of technology enterprise architectures, including complex heterogeneous systems and computer and network system design (e.g., VMWare, Active Directory, Azure AD, AWS).
- Skilled in developing and presenting overall architecture solutions.
- Proficient in analytical planning and organizational/time management skills.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly, both orally and in writing, in concise language suitable for technical and management groups.
- Ability to work with people from all departments with varying degrees of computer/technology knowledge.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing hybrid server environments in a Cisco network.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in global network design and implementation.
- Exceptional analytical skills with 10 years of combined relevant experience and education as a manager or technical architect in an infrastructure team with a global setup.
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or MIS.
Experience:
- Minimum of eight years as a Network Architect or a relevant role, including managing resources and projects.
Other:
- May require working nights and weekends.
