We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Data Science Manager to join our Corporate Trust team. This role is a hybrid work schedule (3 days a week in office) and will be located out of our Philadelphia, PA office.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Leads one or more medium-sized teams to deliver data science technical and organizational leadership to ensure an environment where data science leads can effectively grow, promote, and deploy the effective utilization of data products in support of the strategic priorities.
- Develop organizational leadership in techniques and methods to support data decisioning. Recruit and develop a team which specializes in 3 domain specialties: model science, feature science, and Insight science capabilities. Ensure the team is accountable to develop and guide more junior members.
- Leads one or more complex initiatives with direct strategic impact by maintaining and growing cross-organizational relationships to further the development of data science across the enterprise.
- Establishes relationships to obtain data and subject knowledge needed to support advanced analytics to provide guidance to teams.
- Oversee the development of consultative partnerships with internal teams to understand their strategic objectives, key performance indicators, and reporting requirements.
- Oversee the extraction of business insights to guide the direction of learning activities and drive organizational efficiencies, effectiveness, and outcomes. Recruit and develop staff including professional and college hires from leading-edge institutions.
- Stays abreast of technology innovations and trends and identifies areas of improvement across BNY Mellon and externally to academic and vendor relationships. Contribute to budgets and operating plans based on client needs.
- Manages one or more data science teams and contributes to the achievement of data science objectives.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM, or equivalent work experience with experience preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in a related field.
- 2-4 years’ experience managing staff and contributing to hiring needs.
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $100,000 and $150,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
