Overview: The Director of Brand and Communications is responsible for developing the organizational brand and communication strategy. The strategy will shape how the public perceives the organization, which can have a significant impact on its success and reputation. This position works to maintain consistency in messaging, ensures that the brand's image resonates with the target audience, and adapts strategies as needed to stay relevant in a dynamic business environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements a comprehensive brand strategy that defines the organization's identity, values, and positioning in the market.
- Establishes clear brand voice and brand guidelines to maintain a cohesive brand experience.
- Responsible for integrating and implementing consistent brand standards across multichannel campaign assets including advertising, PR, customer events/exhibits, sales collateral, digital marketing and other Origami content.
- Leads team production and prioritization through Asana sprint process to assure seamless internal collaboration, production forecasting, deadline delivery and throughput reporting.
- Owns the development, measurement and reporting of brand and content goals and KPIs.
- Collaborates with product marketing and marketing operations to assure that content is aligned with client journey and that content has a clear business objective and is measurable.
- Leverages relevant AI technologies (safely within company security policy) to gain efficiency in development and scaling of brand and content development function; advocates and educates other parts of the organization on how to appropriately leverage AI for brand and content purposes that are in harmony with our brand and content guidelines.
- Establishes processes and works with other departments and colleagues to ensure efficient development and brand consistency across all channels.
- Oversees public relations efforts, including media relations, press releases, and crisis management to shape the organization's public image and reputation; owns PR calendar and agency relationship; leveraging internal and stakeholders as needed.
- Ensures that colleagues are well-informed about the organization's brand and communication strategies and are enabled to leverage brand and content guidance and best practices in creating internal communications plans and materials.
- Allocates and manages budgets for brand and content activities, ensuring that resources are used effectively.
- Measures the effectiveness of branding and communication efforts using metrics and data analysis and making adjustments based on the results.
- Builds and maintains relationships with executives, key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams.
- Oversees a team of professionals in roles such as graphic designers, agencies, public relations specialists, and marketing professionals.
- Responsible for team member performance management activities, including providing ongoing coaching and mentorship, completing review and compensation processes, etc.
- Conducts benchmarking of the competitive landscape, market research, industry trends, and customer preferences to assure our brand and content approach is positively differentiated in the marketplace.
- Develops branding and communication process and deliverables in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including copyright, trademark, and advertising standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- 8+ years in B2B marketing, preferably in technology, insurance or agency.
- Experience managing a design team or multiple designers.
- Strong communication skills, internally and externally facing; experience communicating and working closely with C-level executives.
- Experience setting goals, KPI’s, reporting, and analytics.
- Substantial experience in marketing, branding, and communications.
- Previous experience in leadership or management roles; Experience in leading teams and projects.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey ideas and strategies clearly and persuasively.
- Proficiency in social media management.
- Ability to analyze data and conduct market research.
- Strong belief in and enthusiasm for our brand and mission.
