Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this role will lead the PMO for the technology function, covering both engineering and product management. As a senior leader, the Director of Technical Program Management will be instrumental in steering transformational changes across product management and engineering capabilities. This position is responsible for elevating program management practices, ensuring excellence in execution, and aligning cross-functional efforts with Powin’s strategic goals.
- Lead Program Management Excellence: Develop and implement best-in-class program management processes, tools, and methodologies to drive the successful execution and delivery of new product development (NPD) and sustaining programs across hardware, firmware, and software domains. Collaborate closely with the Office of Transformation PMO team and establish and enforce clear program management standards and best practices, ensuring consistency and excellence across all projects. Continuously improve these processes based on feedback and lessons learned.
- Lead Portfolio Management: Ensure that program objectives are aligned with business goals and customer needs, driving strategic initiatives to completion. Direct the portfolio management process, ensuring alignment of all programs with the company’s strategic objectives and priorities. Provide regular portfolio updates and performance reports to executive leadership, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Oversee Program Execution and Delivery: Lead the planning, coordination, and monitoring of all program activities, managing risks and resolving issues to ensure successful outcomes. Ensure programs are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Oversee programs that include hardware, firmware, and software components, as well as overall solution outcomes. Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure seamless execution.
- Establish and Drive NPI Process Adoption: Develop, implement, and ensure the adoption of a robust New Product Introduction (NPI) process, aligning it with company goals and cross-functional strategies to accelerate time-to-market and enhance product quality.
- Implement Engineering Standard Work Practices: Develop, implement, and maintain engineering standard work practices across multidisciplinary teams. Establish meeting review structures and approaches for problem-solving to promote consistent methodologies.
- Foster Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of program and project managers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Build and develop a high-performing team.
- Manage Resources and Budgets: Oversee program budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and alignment with business priorities. Drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness in program management operations, identifying opportunities to optimize processes and reduce costs.
- Facilitate Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong collaboration across engineering, product management, marketing, sales, and customer support teams. Act as a liaison between technology program management and other departments, ensuring clear communication and alignment.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of technical program management experience in an engineering or technically focused capacity, with significant experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Extensive experience in managing complex programs across hardware, firmware, and software domains, with a deep understanding of product lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated expertise in agile project management practices and the ability to instill these methodologies across an organization.
- Strong proficiency in program management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Project, with a keen ability to drive strategic initiatives to completion.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously and adapt to changing scopes.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support international teams.
