Description
Under the direction of the Audiologist IV, the Audiologist I is responsible for evaluating the hearing of children and providing therapy for patients with hearing loss.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Master's Degree or Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
0 years Will consider recent Master's/Aud Level graduates. (Required)
2 years (Preferred)
Required Licenses and Certifications
Must be licensed in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia (in VA, Hearing Aid Dispenser's license also required). Must have licensure prior to starting in the primary work location/state. Other state licensure must be obtained within 30 days upon hire. Certificate of clinical competency in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Required)
Functional Accountabilities
Clinical Evaluation and Hearing Aid Assessment
- Conduct audiological evaluations and hearing aid evaluations in an efficient manner using the appropriate test procedures.
Conducts Parent Counseling & Makes Recommendations
- Counsels parents and children regarding test findings and recommendations.
- Makes all appropriate referrals.
Clinical Caseload Management
- Counsels parents and children regarding test findings and recommendations.
- Makes all appropriate referrals.
Equipment Maintenance
- Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
Clinical Reporting
- Report test results in an accurate manner using appropriate format.
