Provide leadership, support, and strategic direction for laboratory information systems and supporting platforms in a multi-hospital environment.
Responsibilities:
- Delegate tasks to, organize, mentor, and motivate a team of resources.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of technology and instill the principles of this culture in a team of resources.
- Follow and assure team adherence to Quest policies and procedures framework.
- Review product architectural design, requirements specifications, and test specifications.
- Determine and/or approve estimates for development tasks.
- Design, configure, debug, and deploy software within the scheduled timeframe.
- Conduct technical assessment of the impact of any changes to product requirements.
- Provide day-to-day technical guidance to other members of the project team.
- Highlight, review, and mitigate technical risks.
- Support the project team with guidance on project-specific processes, procedures, tools, and techniques.
- Contribute to the continued improvement of the organization's development procedures by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Resolve technical issues in conjunction with team members.
- Act as the technical point of contact with Test and Documentation, responsible for delivery of required technical information.
- Ensure that designs, code, and unit tests are consistent, robust, and scalable.
- Identify technology training requirements.
- Work with the Director in the development and administration of the departmental budget.
- Steward process improvement initiatives.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsible for interviewing potential candidates, hiring, training, oversight of daily activities, and performance appraisals of employees.
Education:
BS/BA degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field including MLT, MT.
Preferred Work Experience:
- Demonstrate how you've leveraged Customer Experience processes to act as an advocate for customers.
- At least 5 years of experience working with Sunquest / CliniSys LIS or other laboratory information systems.
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, and/or training other team members.
- Minimum 3 years of people leader experience.
People Leader Responsibility:
