Senior Messaging Engineer Chicago, IL – WFH 4 days, onsite 1 day in the loop Summary This position is responsible for operational support of and project initiatives involving the Messaging environment. This senior position provides maintenance, support, and enhancements of the messaging systems including Exchange, Outlook, Mobility, Proofpoint, Email archiving, Active Directory, WAN acceleration, Load Balancing & Application Performance Management. Candidates should be team players with excellent communication skills and have the ability to manage a multitude of assignments independently.
What you'll be doing - Serve as Subject Matter Expert for email client software such as Microsoft Office 365
- Serve as a Subject Matter expert for Microsoft Windows Server environment with Windows Server 2012/2008/2008 R2
- Experience with MDM solutions, preferably Intune and\or Workspace One (Blackberry is a bonus)
- Experience migrating to and supporting Exchange Online
- Experience with archiving solutions, preferably Enterprise Vault or Exchange Online Archiving
- Ability to professionally coordinate, collaborate with and assist Customer Support (Tier 1 and Tier 2) personnel with Messaging related incidents
- Interfacing and coordinating with third-party software vendors as needed to achieve timely resolution of business impacting problems
- Provide recommendations on optimizing the performance of system environment, including security best practices, reconfiguration, maintenance and/or upgrades
- Train Engineers and support specialist on operating and supporting Messaging solutions
- Proficient in managing mail gateway systems (preferably Proofpoint)
- Strong understanding of networks and related WAN/LAN technologies
- Ability to adapt communication content, message, and terminology based on audience expressing ideas in a succinct manner using plain language
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to reach team goals
- Flexible with changing priorities
- Monitoring and analyzing Messaging to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Document System uptime and usage metrics
- Provide 24x7 On-Call support on a rotating basis
Requirements - 7+ years of experience with Messaging Engineering
- At least some cloud/Azure/Office 365 Engineering experience
- Strong email experience
- Must have Email Archive Infrastructure experience
- Mobility experience
- Instant messaging experience
- Experience with Proofpoint or other security gateways
