The Community Services Department Management Analyst I will be a team player able to work with cross-functional teams within the department’s division and other city departments and able to manage high work volume, deadlines, and challenges.
The Management Analyst I for the Community Services Department will provide budget, fee, report, data, and procurement technical expertise to assist the department in decisions and planning.
You'll be responsible for:- Working directly within the Business Services Division within the Community Services Department.
- Preparing, reviewing, and providing budget analysis and budget entry into a database. Using budget data to assist the department in decisions and planning.
- Tracking the Department-wide data and performance measurement initiative, and utilizing data on a regular basis to make decisions, tell stories, and solve problems; preparing and presenting reports of findings and making recommendations as to appropriate action.
- Providing technical guidance or supervision to individual work units on a regular basis; assisting supervisors with complex operating or administrative issues; investigating and resolving organizational issues; developing goals, objectives, and budgetary information.
- Providing guidance in project management as it relates to Major Projects and Capital Improvements, contracts, and grants.
- Contract auditing and management; administering grant-funded program activity, directing and monitoring work performed; preparing or drafting related proposals, reports, and records.
- Compiling information and preparing manuals, documents, resolutions, or publications relating to administrative, fiscal, or operational issues.
- Preparing staff reports and giving presentations to elected and appointed bodies.
- When designated, leading, or participating in committee activity; coordinating or conducting activities with other City departments, agencies, organizations, and the community, contributing views and interests of the City in execution or assigned duties.
- Directly supervising a Management Aide, who will assist with the above tasks.
- Overseeing procurement processes.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENTThe Community Services Department (CSD) is responsible for providing enriching, fun, and meaningful opportunities for the community to come together. CSD operates the Epicenter Sports Complex, RC Family Resource Center, RC Sports Center, Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, Goldy S. Lewis Community Center, and James L. Brulte Senior Center. In addition to the above-listed facilities, more than 30 different parks are open to the community for passive use, park shelters and event rentals, hiking trails, athletic fields, and city-planned special events.

**Subject to change at the discretion of the personnel officer**Education and/or Experience:Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field; and six months of experience conducting research and analysis or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of the principles of research, statistical analysis and report preparation; organization and functions of the assigned municipal department; principles of accounting and auditing; methods and procedures of budget preparation; computer applications in administrative functions; general office procedures. Ability to perform specialized administrative tasks; conduct research, perform analysis, and prepare and present reports of findings; work independently; interpret and apply related laws, ordinances and policies; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; meet the public in situations requiring diplomacy and tact; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Special Requirements:Depending upon assignment, possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record may be required.
