Riverside University Health System Medical Center has opportunities for board-certified/eligible Family Medicine physicians passionate about teaching. Primary responsibilities of RUHS faculty are to work alongside and mentor Residents in clinical settings, evaluate the work and performance of Residents, and teach in didactic lecture sessions. Faculty also participate in various hospital and clinic-based committees as well as quality improvement projects and oversee and direct components of the RUHS Family Medicine Residency Program curriculum and experience.
The schedule for this position is Mon-Fri 8am-5pm.

- Conduct medical examinations for patients; diagnose medical conditions; screen for and provide resources as needed for social determinates of health; order diagnostic testing; prescribe and administer treatment and/or medication.
- Assist in directing and supervising the work of residents, interns and medical students in an assigned field.
- Act as a resource to Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in the group.
- Demonstrate professionalism in all actions, including interpersonal skills, as well as compliance with RUHS policies and organizational objectives, including organizational mission and values.
- Maintain documentation of care to substantiate coding, in accordance with standards required by Joint Commission, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), state, and federal guidelines; maintain appropriate records and complete medical documentation, including review of labs and diagnostic testing within the RUHS policy guidelines.
- Consult with members of other agencies concerning problems related to the operation of public health programs.
- Act as the primary consultant to staff regarding the medical aspects of the public health programs; review public health programs to ensure compliance with state policies and regulations.
- Instruct Registered Nurses and other medical staff in the care and treatment of patients; determine necessity for referral and refer persons requiring special diagnostic procedures or treatment to appropriate sources.
- Participate in clinical quality programs, including responsibility for own quality metrics and compliance with RUHS policy and state and federal requirements; address patient quality metrics at each clinical encounter.
Experience:
Successful completion of a residency training program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) OR by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and board certification/board eligibility in Family Medicine.
License/Certificate:
Possession of a current valid Physician's and Surgeon's Certificate issued by the State of California without restrictions. Possession of a current valid Drug Enforcement Agency registration. Possession of a valid California Driver's License may be required.
Knowledge of:
The principles and practices of modern medicine; current techniques, procedures and equipment applicable to primary care or the specialized medical field; principles of effective supervision.
Ability to:
Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate specialized medical services; perform specialized medical services; supervise and instruct professional and technical personnel; develop and present educational programs for medical students, interns, resident physicians, and ancillary medical staff; maintain records and prepare comprehensive reports; work effectively with staff, patients and others.
