STAR, Inc., is a non-profit located in Norwalk, CT that provides support services to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities and their families for over 70 years. A Day in the Life of the Director of Facilities:
In this role you will oversee the maintenance, renovation and safety of all STAR properties, including group homes, apartments, program facilities and administrative locations all while ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
You will also be managing our fleet, ensuring that our vehicles are safe and in compliance with transportation regulations.
In addition, our Director of Facilities is in charge of overseeing our technology, security management and purchasing of hardware needed for business operations.
Our Director of Facilities is also responsible for developing strategic plans for infrastructure and operations, negotiating and managing all vendor contracts, purchasing as well as developing and maintaining emergency and disaster recovery plans.
Qualifications for the Job:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but will accept experience in place of formal education.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in facilities management with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, construction and maintenance practices
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and building codes and fleet management
- Experience with facilities management software and technology
Schedule:
40 hours a week Monday-Friday & flexible hours based on the needs and responsibilities of the position.
