A Sales Engineer (SE) is an outstanding individual who combines the communications skills to build strong professional relationships with the technical skills to develop compelling network solutions that accomplish our customers' business imperatives. The SE partners with an Account Manager to drive revenue growth for Juniper by delivering business success to our customers and partners.
Daily activities include direct customer and partner engagement: comprehensive discovery, information sharing and collaborative solution design; proposal development; solution demonstrations; proof-of-concept test design and execution. SE's also work collaboratively within Juniper to highlight emerging customer requirements and use cases, convey the competitive landscape, and coordinate with Juniper and partner professional services organizations to ensure implementations meet or exceed customer expectations. Additionally, time is invested in technical, professional, and leadership development through self-study and formal training.

Position Specifics
This home-office position is in the VA/DC/MD region focused on supporting Juniper's Federal business.
Required Experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop meaningful and impactful professional relationships.
- Demonstrated ability and experience as a pre-sales SE for a network vendor or value-added reseller (prefer 3+ years' experience).
- Strong hands-on experience with Juniper and competing vendor solutions and hardware platforms.
- Experienced in Campus network design (Virtual-Chassis, 802.11 ax, 802.3ad), Datacenter network design (EVPN/VXLAN, Clos architectures, Fabric build out), and Security Solutions (NGFW, UTM, DDoS, IPSec, MACSec, SIEM, Threat Intel).
- Experience serving customers and delivering solutions across Federal DOD entities.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent desired.
Required Technical Skills
- Campus network design (wired, wireless, WAN and security)
- Data center network design (EVPN/VXLAN, IP fabrics)
- Network Security design (NGFW, UTM, DDoS, IPSec, MACSec, SIEM)
Desired Technical Skills
- Network virtualization, including containerization
- Network automation, including Python, Ansible, YANG, JSON, Netconf
- Knowledgeable in Federal Market requirements (FIPS, NIAP, FedRAMP, STIG, DOD APL)

Minimum Salary: $155,584.00
Maximum Salary: $223,652.00
The pay range for this position is expected to be between $155,584.00 and $223,652.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Juniper's pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
