This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.
Salary/Pay Range: $240,000 - $290,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.

Summary
The Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs is the chief academic officer for UCCS, providing visionary leadership and strategic direction for all academic programs and initiatives. As the senior member of the Chancellor's executive team, the Provost is responsible for ensuring the academic excellence of the university and fostering a culture of innovation that encourages growth and change. This role requires a dynamic leader who can advance the university's mission by guiding academic policy, enhancing faculty development, and overseeing curriculum and research initiatives.
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- As chief academic officer, articulate and promote teaching, learning, research, and creative works as the core of the university and campus development.
- Serve as the Chancellor's collaborative partner and advisor.
- Allocate resources to support the high quality of UCCS' academic programs.
- Lead initiatives that actively promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Promote student success and the learning environment.
- Provide strategic leadership in cultivating and securing funding for research and creative works.
- Collaborate effectively with provosts from other campuses and external partners.
- Recruit, develop, and promote top-quality, diverse tenure-track faculty and academic leaders.
- Work collaboratively with the Chancellor and other leaders to implement long-range academic plans.
Tentative Search Timeline
- Priority will be given to applications submitted by: September 22, 2024. However, this position will be open until filled.
- Potential first-round interview dates: September 30, 2024 - October 2, 2024.
- Potential campus interview dates: November 11, 2024 - November 15, 2024.
- Potential start date: January 1, 2025.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree from an accredited institution.
- Leadership Experience: A proven track record of at least three years of university administrative leadership.
- Commitment to Diversity: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Strategic Vision and Governance: Demonstrated experience integrating financial and strategic planning.
- Communication and Integrity: Evidence of strong organizational and leadership skills.
