West Virginia University Medicine is seeking a psychiatrist for West Virginia University Hospitals, Inc. Position is based at United Summit Center in Bridgeport, WV. Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.
United Summit Center (USC) is a comprehensive mental health center servicing six counties in north central West Virginia. United Summit Center and Chestnut Ridge Center, in coordination with WVU Medicine, work together to provide quality behavioral health service to people who have acute and chronic psychiatric disabilities, intellectual/developmental disabilities, substance abuse problems, and to people who are in crisis in an effort to assist in the achievement of their fullest potential.
Duties:
- Provides direct client care including psychiatric evaluation and diagnosis.
- Participates in treatment planning process from initial treatment plan through discharge for assigned cases.
- Treats a variety of ages and diagnoses including substance use.
- Provides clinical supervision and consultation to non-medical staff.
- Involvement in discussions relating to patient care and protocols.
- Involved in multi-disciplinary treatment teams providing clinic-based care as well as crisis residential care.
- Participation in activities relative to clinical work as appropriate, including routine monitoring and evaluation.
- May be involved in peer review, policy development, and/or committee membership.
Qualifications:
- M.D. or D.O. degree or foreign equivalent.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Psychiatry and board eligible/board certified in psychiatry.
- Eligible for West Virginia medical licensure.
- All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
