We are currently hiring a Manager of Financial Reporting in Boston, MA (*Hybrid).
*A Hybrid position at Boston Beer requires that our coworkers reside within commuting distance to be onsite according to their teams’ weekly schedule.
The Manager of Financial Reporting is responsible for managing the monthly financial close, quarterly SEC filings, technical accounting research, and complex equity transactions, and is the lead relationship manager for both internal and external audit. This role will be reporting into the Corporate Controller.
What You'll Brew:
- Monthly Financial Close
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, reconciling, monitoring, and ensuring accuracy of all Company trial balances in compliance with GAAP.
- Production of the monthly closing memo highlighting variances and issues with complete researched explanations to the Finance leadership and CEO.
- Responsible for reviewing all accounting procedures and policies to ensure transactions are efficiently and effectively accounted for and the accounting is accurate and complete.
- External SEC Filings
- Responsible for financial information for the earnings releases and quarterly and annual reports filed with the SEC.
- Ensure the proper and accurate disclosures in the Company’s quarterly earnings releases and quarterly and annual reports filed with the SEC.
- Technical Accounting and Equity
- Ensure proper accounting for all company transactions, including accounting research where necessary.
- Develop technical accounting position memos with corresponding ASU guidance, with ability to explain position to senior leadership and external auditors.
- Manage equity transactions and maintain equity software (Shareworks).
- Audit Support
- Coordinate with the Company’s internal and external auditors and act as primary contact for the financial statement audit.
- Assist in Sarbanes Oxley requirements, testing, and compliance activities.
- Management
- The Manager of Financial Reporting is responsible for managing a team of accountants and maintains a dotted line relationship with the accounting teams at the Company owned Breweries as well as the People & Culture team.
- Responsible for the hiring, onboarding, training, and retaining of engaged & high-performing coworkers.
- Ensures that direct reports are provided with clear expectations & direction and are empowered and held accountable to achieve their goals and perform their jobs.
What Ingredients You'll Bring:
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a closely related field
- 6+ years of total professional accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting and corporate accounting experience with general ledger, financial closing process
- 2+ years of management experience
- CPA Certification
Preferred Requirements:
- SAP and Manufacturing experience preferred
Level: 5
In accordance with pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role if hired is $102,000 – $166,400 annually based on location and the experience level of the candidate. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance.
