The Senior Director of Air Management will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies within our division. This role requires a blend of strategic leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for pioneering solutions. The position will spearhead commercialization and development initiatives, guide cross-functional teams, and collaborate with external partners to ensure our products are at the forefront of the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the development and commercialization of new dehumidification technology currently focused on Direct Outdoor Air System in commercial buildings. Set long-term vision and short-term objectives to drive innovation development, initial commercialization, continued product improvements in technology and sales growth.
Controls Development: Experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing building control systems. Adept at integrating advanced control technologies to enhance building efficiency, comfort, and energy management.
HVAC Technology Development: Oversee the R&D process for new technologies, including conceptualization, design, prototyping, and testing. Ensure that projects meet technical specifications, quality standards, and market needs.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers, scientists, and developers. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity, continuous learning, and high performance.
Partnerships and Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including academic institutions, industry experts, and technology partners. Identify opportunities for strategic collaborations and external funding.
Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape. Use insights to inform technology development and position the division as an industry leader.
Budget and Resource Management: Oversee the division's budget, allocate resources effectively, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Implement efficient processes to maximize productivity and cost-effectiveness.
Innovation Culture: Promote a culture of innovation within the division by encouraging experimentation, risk-taking, and creative problem-solving. Recognize and reward achievements that contribute to technological advancements.
Customer Focus: Ensure that new technologies address customer needs and preferences. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to understand market demands and integrate customer feedback into product development.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. An advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) is highly desirable.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in controls and/or technology development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven track record in successfully managing R&D projects and teams.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of building controls, air conditioning technologies, energy efficiency, and sustainability practices. Experience with emerging technologies and innovation methodologies.
Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and management abilities. Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams, driving strategic initiatives, and fostering a collaborative culture.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and translate vision into actionable plans. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
