What you'll be doing
The Head of US Infrastructure Transformation will lead the bank’s efforts in transforming its technology infrastructure to support innovation, efficiency, and growth. This role is critical in overseeing project delivery, process engineering, automation, and optimization within the bank’s technology ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving large-scale infrastructure transformation initiatives and delivering measurable improvements in operational efficiency and effectiveness.
The US Technology Operations team is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Technology Infrastructure environment, providing a cost effective and secure infrastructure, and evolving the environment to meet the needs of the US Region.
How you'll succeed
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a technology infrastructure transformation strategy that aligns with the bank’s business goals.
- Lead the modernization of the bank’s IT infrastructure, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and resilient.
- Identify and implement technology solutions that drive operational efficiency and support the bank’s digital transformation journey.
Project Delivery:
- Oversee the delivery of key infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Implement project management best practices to manage risk, allocate resources, and track performance.
- Ensure seamless collaboration across teams to achieve project objectives.
Process Engineering:
- Identify and analyze existing processes within the technology infrastructure to find areas for improvement.
- Apply process engineering methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to optimize workflows, reduce redundancies, and improve service delivery.
- Standardize and streamline processes to enhance consistency and efficiency across the technology organization.
Automation and Optimization:
- Drive the adoption of automation technologies to reduce manual efforts, increase accuracy, and accelerate service delivery.
- Identify opportunities for optimization in infrastructure management, including cost reduction, performance enhancement, and risk mitigation.
- Lead initiatives to automate repetitive tasks and implement self-service capabilities to empower end-users.
Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing team of professionals in infrastructure management, project delivery, process engineering, and automation.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and career development opportunities for team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the team.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Communicate infrastructure transformation goals, project progress, and outcomes to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, including vendors and service providers, to ensure successful delivery of technology initiatives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all matters related to technology infrastructure transformation.
Who you are
- You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in technology infrastructure management, with a focus on transformation, project delivery, and process engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
- You have proven experience in leading large-scale IT infrastructure transformation projects within the financial services industry.
- You have a strong understanding of cloud computing, data center operations, networking, and cybersecurity.
- You have expertise in process engineering and automation technologies, with experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- You have exceptional project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects successfully.
- You have strong leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on developing talent and driving results.
- You have excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Total Rewards
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $180k - $220k for the New York City market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
