Position: Attending Psychiatrist, Emergency Mental Health Services-Worcester, MA
UMass Memorial Medical Group seeks a psychiatrist to provide coverage to our Emergency Mental Health Services (EMHS) as well as outpatient psychiatry group. We welcome and support applicants from all Academic Ranks to apply.
About our Department:
We are the largest provider of psychiatric services in central Massachusetts with over 400 faculty members who work in a variety of settings within UMass Memorial Health, the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, and the public sector. We integrate our clinical, research, teaching and community partnership activities to help individuals and families transform their lives through recovery from mental illness and addiction.
The Department of Psychiatry has outstanding training programs which include 27 residents and fellows as well as 16 trainees. Our Psychiatry positions offer the opportunity for involvement in a full range of activities. We are a national leader in public sector psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, neurodevelopmental disorders, biological psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, forensic psychiatry, psychosocial rehabilitation, women's mental health, and addiction psychiatry.
Responsibilities:
- The position will provide inpatient service and collaboration with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, and other professionals.
- This will include the opportunity for the candidate to develop their own independent research program, as well as working on existing federally funded studies.
- Protected research time is available to qualified candidates.

Qualifications:
- Must hold a MD or DO degree and qualify for a Massachusetts license.
- Be board certified or board eligible.
