Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Staff Engineer (Dredging/Excavation/Capping) to join our growing sediment & waterfront remediation practice. The successful candidate will ideally be based near one of our offices in Acton MA, Hamilton MA, Bedford NH, Pennington NJ, Lyndhurst NJ, Blue Bell PA, Philadelphia PA or Minneapolis MN. The position will apply engineering skills to projects involving investigations, design, and construction support for the remediation of sediment sites throughout the United States while further developing the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Working with large, multidisciplinary teams to develop strategies to address complex problems;
- Leading field programs and design tasks;
- Planning and implementing fieldwork, including various types of sampling and contractor oversight;
- Evaluating chemical data and contaminant fate & transport;
- Evaluating chemical source forensics;
- Evaluating technologies and remedies, performing cost estimations, drafting design calculations, and planning for remedy implementation;
- Analyzing data, including reviewing historical documents and preparing maps, tables, and figures;
- Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
- Committing to Geosyntec's culture of health & safety.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in civil, water resources, coastal or environmental engineering, or a related field of study. (required)
- Advanced degree in the same. (preferred but not essential)
- Professional registration (i.e., E.I.T. or P.E.) (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- At least 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Ability to digest and summarize technical language from white papers, reports or regulatory documents. (required)
- Technical experience in engineering, geology, geotechnical, environmental, or related disciplines. (preferred)
- Previous field experience, for example coastal vulnerability assessments, sediment sampling, and groundwater sampling. (preferred)
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation. (valuable)
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, and related software; GIS. (preferred)
- Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
