Job Summary: The Addiction Medicine Fellowship Director is responsible for the development and oversight of a new addiction medicine fellowship program within the university's academic setting. This individual will work closely with the program faculty and staff to ensure that the program provides high-quality training and education in addiction medicine.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive addiction medicine fellowship program.
- Complete ACGME accreditation process for the new fellowship program with the goal of obtaining accreditation. Ensure that the addiction medicine fellowship program is consistent with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. Work with program faculty and staff to ensure that the program provides a high-quality educational experience for fellows.
- Collaborate with local addiction medicine providers to provide fellows with hands-on training and experience in addiction medicine.
- Oversee the development and delivery of addiction medicine-related lectures and educational materials for fellows and family medicine residents. Provide clinical services and care in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with other colleges, departments and programs within the university to promote interdisciplinary training and education in addiction medicine.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:- MD/DO or its foreign equivalent from an ACGME-accredited medical college.
- Board certification or board eligibility in family medicine or related field, and Board certification/board eligibility in Addiction Medicine.
- Unrestricted Illinois license to practice medicine in Illinois or Illinois license-eligible.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with fellows, faculty, staff, and community partners.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Knowledge of addiction medicine fellowship programs, including accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience in addiction medicine, including experience in an academic setting or fellowship program.
