ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
People & Stories/Gente y Cuentos is a celebrated, 50-year-old humanities-based nonprofit dedicated to opening doors to literature for new audiences. Through oral readings and guided discussions using our patented methodology, we present enduring short stories in eight- or 10-week sessions. Our programs have been called “magical” by participants and we have regularly been awarded numerous notable grant awards from the NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) and NEH (National Endowment for the Humanities).
As a nonprofit organization committed to bringing literature to new audiences of all ages, People & Stories/Gente y Cuentos seeks donor support through government and area foundation grants, as well as through corporate and individual donations. Our programs are offered to a wide variety of participants, including those who are incarcerated, in re-entry, seniors, and adults and youth in under-resourced communities in NJ, PA, and NY. More information on our organization is available at www.peopleandstories.org.
