Position:
The Director of Margin Optimization will build, direct, and manage a team that works cross-functionally to steward the process to provide appropriate recommendations for margin optimization. This includes, but is not limited to, partnering with inventory management on costs, billing process changes, product substitutions, and collaborating with clinical teams to determine appropriate medications. A critical component of this role is the ability to see each negative and/or sub-optimal margin claim through to resolution, overcoming barriers and roadblocks. This role will have strategic ownership for coming up with new ideas to prevent negative and/or sub-optimal margins on the front-end, while building broader strategies and initiatives for margin optimization across the board.

Responsibilities:
- Build and own a process/team to drive daily oversight of negative and sub-optimal margins, driving higher profitability across the business.
- Continuous review of products selected for each patient to validate margin, formulary changes, and medication appropriateness based on disease state.
- Identify therapeutic substitution opportunities to enhance profitability and minimize copay costs to patients.
- Review billing processes and make recommendations for appropriate changes.
- Collaborate with the inventory/procurement team to optimize costs.
- Define and resource key roles and responsibilities for a margin optimization team.
- Develop a margin optimization roadmap with key milestones.
- Build and own a reporting package that outlines the return on investment for the margin optimization team.
- Collaborate with internal and external operational, business, and technical teams.
- Oversee, lead, and set service level expectations for the margin team.
- Conduct analysis and consult business leadership to implement high impact initiatives.
- Collaborate with external firms for benchmarking on costs.
- Develop and deploy sustainable tools and processes for evaluation and identification of opportunities.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry developments to inform margin enhancement strategy.
- Participate in regional and national sales calls and meetings as relevant.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations practices for infusion patients.
- Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and exceptional analytical skills.
- Experience influencing business partners.
- Strong project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage qualitative and quantitative data.
- Experience managing ambiguity and proactively sensing risks.
- Strong financial acumen preferred.
- Ability to manage a team and processes within workflow.
- A willingness to work in workflow when appropriate.
- 25% travel.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- Required: 3-5 years of specialty or infusion pharmacy practice experience.
- Required: Proven track record of developing and executing successful margin enhancement strategies.
- Required: 3-5 years of experience leading teams in a strategic capacity.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, talk or hear; frequently required to walk and use hands; occasionally required to stand and reach; must frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 30 pounds.

Salary Range:
USD $127,300.00 - $190,900.00 / Year
