Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to support the International C2 & Sensors Division (AFLCMC/HBN), which is within the USAF Digital Directorate and located at Hanscom AFB, MA.
The International C2 & Sensors Division consists of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs to deliver cost-effective defense capabilities to allied nations.
This position will support both the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Branch (HBNI) and Sensors (HBNS) Branch. The portfolio consists of over 28 nations and 90 different projects implementing and executing Air Operations Centers (AOC), Command and Control (C2) program as Ground Radars and Air Surveillance Systems program.

WORK LOCATION: REMOTE approved
* Position has been approved for remote work status, but needs to have access to a USAF installation for SIPR access.
TRAVEL: Travel (~20%) to the Middle East & Pacific locations.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve unique or novel problems, conditions, or issues; or significantly alter standard practices, equipment, devices, processes, and known techniques.
- Provide expert advice to professional colleagues and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations.
- Ability to brief and interface with all levels (high and low, foreign and domestic) to ensure US program requirements are understood and implemented.
- Provide significant and innovative recommendations for advancing programs and/or methods.
- Execute significant projects representing an important segment of the agency's operating programs.
- Exercise judgment and ingenuity in evaluating the value and applicability of new or improved technology, strategies, trends, or applications.
- Investigate, predict, and anticipate issues and conditions extending beyond a single specialty area, and affecting known standards, approaches, precedents, or concepts.
- Develop or collaborate in the formulation of new standards, applications, concepts, or theories changing existing knowledge and extending an understanding of phenomena.
- Assess and carry out strategies and actions to affirm the integrity, economy, quality, and effectiveness of engineering or scientific programs.
- Advocate recommendations, strategies, and actions to reconcile or resolve novel, conflicting, or controversial issues or policies.
- Ability to adapt and interface at client, industry and international locations as necessary to meet mission needs.
- Ability to communicate to foreign civil agencies (power, construction, infrastructure) to convey US requirements and implementation in an OCONUS environment.
- Ability to work across organizations (USACE, WPAFB Civil Engineering, NSA, CENTCOM/PACOM) and other applicable US agencies to ensure US requirements are met from a construction/security/access side.
- Drawing, Site Survey and Planning analysis skills required for pending construction projects.
Qualifications:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must have an active US security clearance
Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD. OR, 12 years of directly related experience, 7 of which must be in the DoD.
- Knowledge of construction, environmental and structural principles and techniques, military and US building regulations, ability to read drawings and building plans.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is desired.
