(BHI) is seeking an exceptional Chief Security Officer (CSO) to join our executive team and lead our comprehensive security strategy, ensuring the safety and integrity of our organization’s assets.
The SVP & Chief Security Officer (CSO) is responsible for ensuring that our organization's security functions effectively to mitigate risks, add value, and provide a competitive advantage. This role involves professionally representing and articulating a defensible security plan to stakeholders such as boards, regulators, insurers, and consumer groups. The CSO will forge strong connections between BHI brand companies, legal, privacy, risk management, and security teams.
In this role you will get to:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and lead the overall security risk management strategy and performance across the portfolio. This includes developing synergistic strategies, policies, processes, and improvement programs to mitigate compliance, operational, strategic, and asset security risks related to technology, data, personnel, supply chain, and other assets.
Operational Excellence: Oversee the enhancement or implementation of core capabilities across the enterprise, drive cost optimization initiatives, and manage the deployment of talent categories among employed team members, contract labor, or third-party managed service providers.
Incident Response: Lead incident response planning, investigate security breaches, and manage related escalations, communications, disciplinary, and legal matters. Act as the 'front-of-house' individual during crises, serving as the accountable spokesperson and leading the company through major incidents.
Compliance & Collaboration: Oversee compliance with applicable laws, standards, and industry best practices across all brands with a focus on financial services. Drive cross-brand collaboration in areas of mutual and shared benefit, and ensure the standardization of company-wide cyber and safety standards.
Stakeholder Engagement: Provide reports and briefings to the management team on important security, safety, and compliance topics, and engage with the Audit Committee and Board of Directors as necessary. Build and foster relationships with law enforcement entities relevant to Booking Holdings’ presence in various countries.
What you have:
Leadership & Crisis Management: Proven experience (15+ years) in a senior cybersecurity leadership role, such as CSO or CISO, preferably in a large complex global organization. Familiarity with the dynamics of a matrix organization and a demonstrable track record of developing and implementing security strategies and frameworks. Proven track record of handling major crises and security breaches effectively.
Security & Compliance Expertise: Deep knowledge in security systems, risk management, and critical infrastructure protection. Familiarity with ISO, SOX, GDPR, CCPA, and PCI-DSS compliance frameworks. Expertise in cyber security, information security, safety, physical security, fraud, crisis management, and compliance.
Critical Leadership Capabilities: Ability to lead change, build relationships, collaborate, and influence at all levels. Strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and the capability to drive results under conditions of change or uncertainty.

The base salary range for Connecticut and the NYC-metro area is $280,800-$343,200. In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible to be considered for an annual bonus and equity grant.
