Senior Product Manager
We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Senior Product Manager. In this pivotal role, you will drive Product development and execution for our proprietary geothermal heat pump units and monitoring software. Dandelion's heat pumps are the most efficient, highest heating capacity units on the market. We have pushed the boundaries by creating a heat pump that works with ground loops half the size of the industry norm, saving customers thousands of dollars. Through this and other product innovations, we are working toward our goal to make home geothermal simple and inexpensive, paving the way for mainstream adoption. Our Senior Product Manager will further this innovative work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy and Vision
- Develop and gain alignment on product vision, strategy, and requirements with cross-functional teams.
- Assess market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive landscape to shape product direction.
- Define market requirements by evaluating competitive landscapes and interviewing potential users, including homeowners, installers, and home builders.
- Product Development and Management
- Lead the launch of hardware products, managing the lifecycle from idea to prototype, pilot, and scale.
- Oversee the development of the Homeowner Monitoring App, leveraging discovery, design best practices, and maintaining UX excellence.
- Work closely with the engineering team to align product priorities with engineering constraints, schedules, and costs.
- Cross-functional Leadership
- Coordinate resources and create product launch plans, including budgets and schedules, with stakeholder buy-in.
- Manage and drive progress across product marketing, sales, operations, G&A, engineering, and legal teams to meet product launch deadlines.
- Serve as a key liaison with our policy and regulatory group to understand current incentives and trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, ideally with consumer hardware products in a startup environment.
- Proven ability to think strategically and define market and product requirements.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of evaluating opportunities from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives.
- Exceptional project management skills, with a track record of launching products on time and within budget.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical and business issues clearly to a diverse set of audiences.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in home electrification or related fields.
- Experience with physical goods and contract manufacturing.
Location: Greater Boston Area
Compensation: 160k-175k
