We have a new opportunity for an Sr. Electrical Engineer to lead the development and launch of new products to support our sales growth. This position will be located on-site at our office in Orlando, Florida. The ideal candidate will be an extremely versatile engineer that has:
- worked in an environment designing and manufacturing photonics-based products
- experience leading a multi-disciplined team of electrical, software and mechanical engineers
- project management skills
- experience with both new product development and ongoing manufacturing support
- experience supporting multiple manufacturing locations
- experience designing analog circuits
- experience managing outside resources
Essential Functions
- Sustaining and updating of legacy products
- Assist internal and external resources to develop and launch products that meet performance requirements, on the agreed project timeline, at the target product cost and within development budget
- Develop and implement robust methodologies for testing products during development and production, to ensure that all performance requirements are met or exceeded, including meeting regulatory and industry standards.
- Work closely with customers, and particularly Beta customers, to capture their requirements input, and using understanding of feasibility, determine product specification priorities and incorporate into the product design.
- Identify and implement improvements in design and production processes for new products, improving quality and reducing the cost of manufacturing, including working with customers and suppliers, as necessary.
- Provide support for manufacturing and sales teams, as needed.
- Perform other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- 5 years’ experience in electronics engineering in a manufacturing setting
- Comfortable with extremely low current photomultiplier tube amplifier and highly stable power supply circuits as well as EMI mitigation
- 5 years’ working with OrCAD and Altium
- Experience with opto-mechanical systems, preferably scientific or analytical instruments
- Spectroscopy experience a plus
- Experience with Microchip MPLabX, PIC processors, Xilinx Vivado/Vitis, Zynq and/or Ultrascale+ high-speed FPGAs preferred
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
