ResponsibilitiesThis role will play a crucial role in managing multiple, comprehensive, and timely investigations involving both physician and scientist staff. Will perform complex, professional interviews which may involve all levels of the organization. Prepare investigative reports and convey facts and conclusions clearly and concisely. Exercises considerable judgment and discretion in scenarios that are complex and highly sensitive, collaborating with Legal, Compliance, Risk and other partners as necessary. Collaborates with the team regarding processes and best practices to improve investigation efficiencies and effectiveness.
Partner with consultant and operational leadership on complex physician/scientist employment and human resources issues. Provides local expertise and consultation related to strategy development, execution planning, and facilitation of HR practice for Consultant Staff, programs and services. Expertise regarding proposals related to consultant staff. Applies understanding of client business unit to develop action plans for appropriate response. Serve as expert on governance related to Consultant Staff (by laws, personnel committee structures, clinical practice committee, applicable policies, etc.) Serves as a subject matter expert in the delivery of HR expertise for consultant staff for the organization, enterprise wide. Work cooperatively with colleagues in Human Resources Legal, and other staff throughout Mayo Clinic internally and externally in support of Consultant Staff. This includes Recruitment, Compensation, Benefits, Office of Staff Services, Recovery and Claims, Occupational Health, Office of Professionalism and Values, Office of Diversity, Medical and Industry Relations, Conflict of Interest, etc. Serve as PC liaison for oversight of investigations, disputes, consultant issues, questions and concerns. Serve in a lead role on projects as assigned by governing bodies, Personnel Committee or Human Resources. Upholds the standards for excellence in the organization by providing an exemplary work ethic and quality standard in all communications and work products. Promotes organizational values by leading by example and building/growing relationships.

This position is a combination of remote and onsite work. This individual must live within driving distance of the Rochester, MN Mayo Clinic campus for onsite expectations. This position may require travel to other Mayo Clinic locations to meet our client’s needs.
QualificationsBachelor degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field with 8 years related experience or a Master's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field with 5 years relevant experience. Additionally, must have consulting agility and adaptability, business acumen and fluency, visionary leadership and an understanding of emerging trends; excellent time management, project management skills, customer service, organizational, verbal & written communication skills, and presentation skills necessary. Knowledge of other HR disciplines required. Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, and team problem-solving skills. Demonstrated computer proficiency. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred. Experience or knowledge of physician/scientist practices and protocol. Experience or knowledge of organizational and committee governance. Travel required to other sites and regions as needed.
Experience conducting formal investigations, supporting physicians, scientists or executives is strongly preferred.
