The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will direct and oversee the financial activities of the Bank, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts predicting future growth.

- Responsible for the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports
- Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses and make any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets
- Participate in community affairs to increase the Bank’s visibility and enhance new business opportunities
Industry Expert –
- Develop and implement the appropriate capitalization policy for fixed assets and policies and procedures for controlling and monitoring the expenditure of bank funds
- Responsible for managing actual income expense and balance sheet figures on a monthly basis for the Board of Directors to review
- Oversee the additions, deletions, and transfers to the Bank’s stockholders register and prepare the appropriate stock certificates, when necessary
Analytical Thinker –
- Ability to recognize long-range economic trends and project the impact on future growth in sales and market share
- Review planning processes and suggest improvements to current methods
What You'll Do:
- Prepare the Bank profit plan on a yearly basis
- Oversee preparation of actual income expense and balance sheet figures on a monthly basis for Board of Directors and officer’s review
- Compute, prepare and run the bank’s Asset/Liability Management Program on a quarterly basis for Board of Directors review
- Act as secretary for the Asset/Liability Committee
- Compute and prepare reserve for loan loss analysis for Board of Directors on a quarterly basis
- Responsible for preparing Risk Based Capital Ratios for Board review on a semi-annual basis
- Review correspondent bank balances and activity within accounts, on a continuing basis, to evaluate profitability and progress toward objectives. Coordinates and directs the transfer of funds relating to these accounts
- Oversee all the incoming and outgoing wire transfers. Ensures appropriate charges are applied to customers’ accounts
- Oversee morning and evening settlement on the Fedline Advantage system ensuring the daily activity balances are correct
- Oversee payment of all bills incurred by the bank, assuring receipt of goods purchased, proper documentation in support of purchases and proper signature authorization for expense
- Oversee all prepaid expenses are properly accrued monthly and balanced to the proper General Ledger asset account
- Prepare, or oversee the preparation of, and files Federal and State income, sales, and purchaser’s use tax returns for the bank
- Compile, calculate and review the monthly liquidity reports and the quarterly liquidity reports for the bank’s executive committee
- Act as Secretary for the annual Stockholders meeting
- Oversee all monthly accruals and ensures General Ledger entries are correct. Reviews the semi-annual payment to the Board of Directors
- Oversee the computations and figuring of generation and preparation of the quarterly Bank Call Report for submission to the Comptroller of the Currency
- Responsible for the computation and figuring of generation and preparation of the quarterly QCR report
- Participate in community affairs to increase the Bank’s visibility and to enhance new business opportunities
- Reconcile the Suntrust reports to our General Ledger on a monthly basis
- Initiate changes in the basic organization structure to accomplish objectives developed with the President/CEO
- Activate new work procedures and systems to accomplish planning and bank development objectives more efficiently
- Ensure all asset/liability accounts are reconciled by an independent bank employee on a monthly or quarterly basis
- Make recommendations to supervisors about budgetary needs of department
- Responsible to the President/CEO for the fulfillment of functions and responsibilities
- Advise and assist department managers, officers and staff in their respective functions associated with the areas of direct responsibility

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required. CPA or advanced degree preferred
- Eight to ten years of experience in financial management required
- Strong knowledge of practical accounting and a familiarity with laws and regulations governing banks
- Extensive background in financial institution accounting and auditing, operations, and policies and procedures
- High-level analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage a group of highly trained personnel
