Principal Data Scientist
- Apply machine learning unsupervised and supervised methods, natural language processing methods to develop custom models, new analytical solutions and capabilities.
- Create new solutions leveraging deep machine learning and AI experience while working both with structured and unstructured data.
- Analyze internal raw and structured data, investigate alternate data sources by discovering patterns utilizing data engineering, data mining and visualization components to support business needs.
- Create libraries, packages, new analytical solution and models while working with internal teams on implementation of capabilities within analytical platforms.
- Research complex business issues and recommend solutions, including model inputs, model design frameworks, and end products that drive innovation for the company.
- May telecommute three (3) days per week from within Florham Park, NJ area.
Requirements- Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field (foreign degree equivalent acceptable) and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or an advanced statistical and data analytics role.
- Prior experience must include five (5) years in/with: Data analysis and data mining using univariate distribution, bivariate analysis, and descriptive statistics; development and delivery of analytical products and solutions; supervised machine learning methods and natural language processing; statistical concepts and probability theories; neural network, boosting methods and hyper parameter tuning; programming and data modeling using Python and PySpark; working with large datasets and risk models using SQL; developing and implementing machine learning models in a Spark environment.
- Prior experience must include three (3) years in/with: Model validation and computing model performance statistics including ROC, KS and Gini coefficient; working with cross-functional stakeholders using agile methodologies.
