Job Summary
The person occupying this position will work in a highly autonomous and collaborative role and be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing strategies related to trading processes and procedures for floor-based and electronic platforms across Cboe’s derivative markets, with a focus on U.S. options, and to a lesser extent, CFE futures. The position will work closely with and report to the Head of Derivatives Market Structure and interact with other teams within the company. While the role does not currently include management of others, this is subject to change.
Location: Chicago, IL (flex hybrid)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage department tasks and priorities to ensure efficient and collaborative interaction and execution of initiatives.
- Evaluate and propose new functionality and features to improve floor and electronic trading.
- Work with floor team on testing and user support for floor technology and tools.
- Leverage market expertise to identify ways to improve Exchange’s operations and competitive position.
- Analyze data to identify customer behavior and use of trading technology features.
- Support business line owners and other departments to optimize offerings and inform the product development priorities and life cycle within the Global Derivatives group.
- Engage client-facing teams as well as TPHs and customers to identify opportunities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and client service skills.
- Effective communication and inter-personal skills.
- Proven ability to excel and value in a team environment.
- Efficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, market data tools. Ability to accommodate occasional travel.
- Regular attendance at the workplace in a traditional office environment, with flexibility.
Work Experience
- 7+ years of direct experience in markets, including electronic quoting and order entry/execution platforms and trading floor mechanics.
- 5 years of practitioner experience preferred in derivatives and equity trading or brokerage.
- 3 years of management experience in relevant and related business lines (preferred).
- Thorough understanding of U.S. market structure; front, mid and back-office operations; characteristics and applications of a broad range of financial products, with a focus on derivatives; knowledge of various types of market participants; and regulatory framework.
