Playfly Sports is looking for a Director, Consulting & Valuation to join our team.
The Consulting & Valuation team at Playfly Sports is dedicated to helping properties and brands maximize the value and impact of their sponsorship programs. As the Director of Consulting & Valuation, you will lead a team of analysts in delivering expert valuation services across a diverse range of industries, including professional and collegiate sports, mixed-use developments, and entertainment properties. This role involves a comprehensive approach to valuing sponsorship assets, providing strategic recommendations on go-to-market strategies, and articulating the business opportunities and ROI for various brands.
The Director will play a pivotal role in managing client relationships, delivering high-quality sponsorship consulting, and overseeing integrated marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a deep expertise in valuation, a strategic mindset, and exceptional communication skills. This position requires a collaborative spirit and a passion for working closely with both clients and internal teams to drive success and innovation in the sports marketing and sponsorship landscape.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Master propriety valuation methodology and understand input data available through Playfly that informs our valuation, ensuring your ability to serve as a subject matter expert for sponsorship valuation
- Manage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute and convey comprehensive valuations of full sponsorship inventories
- Conduct sponsorship valuations and analyses for properties, rightsholders, and brands with the support & direction of the SVP/VP
- Train junior team members on valuation practices
- Provide constant feedback and guidance to Consulting & Valuation Analysts on research, data analysis, key deliverables, easily digestible findings, and takeaways for clients
- Provide strategic & data-driven inputs to sales collateral
- Participate in cross-departmental sharing of best practices & collaboration
- Support on the development & enhancements of valuation tools and sponsorship deals database
- Organize and prioritize tasks across multiple projects at once, while managing the analysts progress, client deliverables, requests, and communicating progress / delays to the internal team
- Work with cross-functional teams to convey complex topics in an easy-to-understand manner
- Other job-related duties as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience within sponsorship valuation, or similar experience required
- Strong experience, knowledge, and understanding in/of sponsorship marketing, inclusive of sports, entertainment, and lifestyle, ideally with previous agency experience
- Successful experience as a project lead with client-facing responsibility and management of team members
- Application of superior prioritization and time-management skills
- Possess naturally curious mindset, excellent problem-solving & analytical skills, enthusiasm working with data, strong adaptability, creative thinking, and sense of accountability
- Ability to simplify complex ideas through excellent communication skills and effective storytelling
- Expertise in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel, including use of formula writing, logic statements, pivot tables, index/lookups, and VBA
- Expertise in SQL, Python, PowerBI, Domo, Tableau preferred, but not required
- Strong presentation, verbal and written skills as well as proven ability to develop well-positioned and thoughtful documents and presentations
- A genuine eagerness to mentor, grow, and learn from a diverse and talented team
TRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work flexible hours as projects exist across multiple time zones
- Willingness to travel as needed for various projects (10-15% of the time)
