We are looking for a director of platform management to join our ranks. This role will be instrumental in driving the success of our core product offering, focusing on expanding business capabilities and leading our platform management team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of product management and delivery, digital experience and transformation, vendor relationships, and team leadership to ensure the successful delivery of our platform initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Influencing, shaping, and executing the strategic direction for our affiliate and client-facing platform ecosystem, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Leading a dynamic team of platform owners, managers, and analysts to drive the execution of platform capabilities, optimization and change management.
- Partnering with Commonwealth’s product lab to drive industry-leading digital experiences aligned across all platforms.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including application solutions, vendor management, platform adoption and education, Info Sec, and HelpDesk among others, to ensure successful delivery, communications, learning and support of platform initiatives.
- Working closely with platform owners to define and prioritize platform features and enhancements based on market research, affiliate and client feedback, and business requirements being driven by product managers.
- Establishing and maintaining platform governance processes, including release management, quality assurance, stability and compliance.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to provide platform performance and reliability reporting, implementing measures to optimize performance and utilization.
Core Strengths and Skills:
- Proven track record of successfully leading product development initiatives from conception to launch with a focus on digital solutions and transformation.
- Strong understanding of wealth management platform technologies and products, including cloud-native technologies, SaaS products, and integration frameworks.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support, inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to inform decision-making and drive results.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Additional Skills and Knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, finance, product/project management, or related field; Master's degree or equivalent preferred.
- 7+ years’ experience driving platform or product management, or related roles within the financial technology or similar industry.
- Experience working in agile development environments.
