We are looking for a Head of Finance - Americas to join us in our Corporate Development & Finance team based in Atlanta, GA.
About the role
The Head of Finance will manage the planning, coordination and execution of accounting activities for the Americas (US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico). This individual will be responsible for all legal entities in the country, ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and yearly closing and reporting, in line with local requirements and group guidelines. They will oversee the compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, tax obligations, ensuring that the principles of the accounting processes are applied within the local and international legal contexts.
Who you’ll work with
This individual will report to the Head of Global Business Services and will be responsible for leading a team of internal employees and external resources.
What you’ll do
- Ensure all Accounting and Reporting policies and procedures are followed in compliance with the country legislation and Global guidelines.
- Ensure proper booking, maintenance of records and support documentation of accounting processes - general ledger, sales and stocks, fixed assets, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Ensure monthly, quarterly, and yearly statements are accurate, complete and timely reported, in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS.
- Liaise and work closely with offshore resources to obtain the necessary back-office support efficiently and effectively.
- Support local tax and treasury teams and ensure all legal obligations are duly accomplished and local statutory requirements are met in a timely manner.
- Guarantee that all accounting documentation is compliant with local laws and regulations and that archives are kept accordingly.
- Coordinate outsourcing activities in the respective country.
- Act as the single point of contact for internal and external auditors on audit plans and follow-up actions.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, processes, policies and procedures.
- Drive simplification of processes at the local level while adhering to global standards.
- Provide thought leadership and bring industry best practices into the design and execution of gross to net processes across the globe.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
- Bachelors Degree.
- Masters Degree and/or finance/accounting certification strongly preferred.
- 10+ years in a senior finance role, as part of a multinational company.
- Knowledge of various operating models within the pharma industry is essential – this includes GPO, PBM, Government Pricing, Rebates, patient support programs, etc.
- Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
