Job Summary
The Center for Internet Augmented Research and Assessment (CIARA) at Florida International University's Modesto Maidique Campus is recruiting undergraduate or graduate computer science and/or engineering students to participate in National Science Foundation (NSF) sponsored projects. Students will get exposure to novel networking technologies, and network automation development concepts and techniques, state-of-art technology, and experience supporting projects that benefit research institutions.
CIARA has opportunities for students interested in getting experience in the fields of network automation development, DevOps, and scalability, as well as in the computer networking/IT fields.

Desired Qualifications
- Current undergraduate students in a computer science, engineering, or networking related curriculum
- FIU students majoring in CS/IT or students with a minor in CS/IT
- Knowledge of Network protocols (eg, OSPF, BGP)
- Knowledge of supports in the troubleshooting activities of network infrastructure
- Knowledge of Linux OS and shell scripting
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Team player
- Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within the first 30 days
Who May Apply
- Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
- Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
- Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.
Work Schedule
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (20 hours a week)
- Schedules can be tailored to the student's curriculum and class requirements
- Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of the department

$15.00/Hour
