A law firm in Cranford, NJ, is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in patent litigation matters and possess exceptional communication skills for client interaction. Additionally, candidates with prosecution experience and knowledge of the International Trade Commission (ITC) would be highly valued. Membership in the US Patent Bar is considered a plus for this role.
Duties:
- Represent clients in patent litigation matters, providing legal advice and support throughout the litigation process.
- Conduct legal research, analyze case law, and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives and develop effective legal strategies to achieve their goals.
- Prepare and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials, advocating on behalf of clients in court.
- Manage and organize case files, documents, and evidence in a structured and efficient manner.
- Communicate and negotiate with opposing counsel and parties involved in the litigation.
- Provide regular updates to clients on case progress and maintain a strong client-attorney relationship.
- Stay updated on patent law developments, industry trends, and best practices in patent litigation.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on patent litigation matters.
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and legal professionals.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with clients and other legal team members.
- Experience in patent prosecution would be a valuable asset.
- Knowledge of the International Trade Commission (ITC) is a plus.
- Membership in the US Patent Bar is considered advantageous.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the state of New Jersey.
Certifications:
- US Patent Bar membership (preferred but not required).
