The ideal candidate should have a strong educational background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or a related science, coupled with expertise in computer systems or machine learning. While 2+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution is preferred, candidates must also be admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Duties:
- Collaborate with renowned clients to identify and understand innovative technologies and inventions.
- Draft and prepare high-quality electronic and software-related patent applications.
- Prosecute patent applications before the USPTO, including responding to office actions and conducting examiner interviews.
- Conduct thorough prior art searches and patentability assessments.
- Provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters, patent portfolio management, and patent strategy.
- Analyze and evaluate patent infringement and validity issues.
- Manage and maintain client relationships, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Stay updated on emerging technology trends and changes in patent laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or related science with a strong knowledge of computer systems or machine learning.
- 2-5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution is preferred.
- Admitted to practice before the USPTO.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
