Director of Production Engineering - Issuing Solutions for Value-Added Services

You will be challenged with overseeing a team of high-performing engineers tasked with ideating, designing, developing, testing and implementing products, services and applications that continue to differentiate our processing capabilities from our competitors.
This position is ideal for an experienced software engineering leader who is passionate about solving challenging problems and building secure, resilient, efficient and reliable solutions. A leader in this role will be extensively involved in driving hands-on software engineering activities including proof-of-concept, design, documentation, development, testing and implementation of new functionality as well as refactoring existing solutions.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate and guide your team to model and exemplify Visa’s core values, maintaining a delivery-focused approach.
- Actively manage resources in alignment with organizational needs and priorities maintaining focus on security, reliability, scalability and resilience.
- Collaborate with project team members (Product Owners, Architects, Analysts, Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) to ensure design, development and implementation of solutions.
- Drive the development and implementation of secure, high quality, on-time solutions that conform to the vision of the future state of processing and integrate across the technical ecosystem.
- Present technical solutions, capabilities and features to address identified requirements, problems and challenges.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer amongst peers and partners regarding solution architecture, design, implementation and delivery.
- Recognize, emphasize and promote the growth and refinement of the Visa Leadership Principles throughout your team of direct reports.

**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical or other relevant engineering field.
• Prior management experience in leading high performing teams is highly desired.
• Proven record of defining technology roadmap, executing defined technology strategies and driving adoption across a large enterprise.
• Extensive experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing large-scale production solutions.
• Experience in container ecosystems – Docker, Kubernetes, Service Mesh (Istio or Linkerd), CNI (Calico, Cilium).
• Experience with Continuous Integration pipeline tools such Jenkins and GitLab.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef and Ansible.
• Strong analytical skills and able to work independently to solve sophisticated engineering problems.
• Proven ability to lead with passion and execute vision with little guidance and ability to make independent judgments and decisions within established guidelines.
• Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to collaboration. Able to work well in a global collaborative environment.
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 150,400.00 to 218,050.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
